Walking Tours

Walking tours are amazing things – whether you stretch out a city map and plan your own, to taking a tour with a company or individual.

Walk Boston: Making Our Communities More Walkable

When I was planning a trip to Boston a few years ago, I came across this website. I wish every city that I travel too had such a website of information. If you enjoy walking, see this website for maps of the city and other resources. I have also purchased a ‘WalkBoston: Walking Tours of Boston’s Unique Neighborhoods’ book. If you can’t seem to find it on their website, e-mail them to inquire about purchasing a copy. I ended up not using the book while on vacation, but enjoyed reading the stories and information about the walks provided in the book – I plan to do a walk or two – or five – next time I visit the city.

Boston: Kennedy Walking Tour

If you enjoy learning new things about history, and/or the Kennedy family and Boston politics, this tour is for you. I had a wonderful time with a young gentleman and was amazed at this tour! The tour is informative, fun, and it takes you to more places than being on “just a Kennedy tour,” hence the title.

Savannah Walks: Tours for the Educated Traveler

I have not been to Georgia yet, but it’s on my bucket list – and so is this company.

Some sites I have looked at, but not gone on their tours:

National Geographic – See the USA the Walking Way

London Walks – London, U.K.
